After a grueling biceps and triceps workout the other day I was left with that soreness in my muscles that my body has learned to crave. However awesome that may be the lingering tightness needs to be relieved quickly. What do I use? The foam roller. I'm sure many of you have seen these odd devices in your local gym or the fitness section of any sports store and wondered what is their purpose.
So why should you have this amazing device in your arsenal? Because it helps relive that soreness you have deep in your muscles after a long run, or an intense weight lifting session. The roller really does give you the ability to massage deep into your muscle tissue, with out having to do much work. It gives you the ability to massage away a lot of soreness with having to see a masseuse. Prices range from $20.00 up to $50. I purchased a medium range priced foam roller and it has paid for itself tenfold.
Be warned, it can be uncomfortable, but I guarantee once you make the purchase, this item will make your workout recovery a whole lot quicker.
